I started drawing from a moving car a number of years ago. These early drawings formed a kind of journal and documented the transitional development of my own visual experiences. At that time, I was travelling by car from Cape Cod to Florida. With nothing to do on those long trips, I began to draw what I saw as fleeting images seen from a car travelling sometimes 70 miles per hour. I drew in a frenzy at these speeds. And discovered a new way of experiencing time and space. There is the appeal of
“Chance” in “Moving and Changing Environment”. Images blend or super-impose one on the other in ways that could never be pre-planned. I developed small intaglio prints from these journals.
